Indian Coins, Kushan. Vasu Deva I , 190-230 AD, Gold Dinar
7.85 g. 19.8 mm. die-axis 12 o'clock.
Obverse: Bactrian legend around ÞAONANOÞAO BAZOAΗO KOÞANO
The King of Kings, Vasu Deva the Kushan. The king standing facing, head left,
clad in conical helmet and suit of mail, diadem and nimbate; holds right hand sacrificing over altar,
in left hand holding a spear, a sword at his waist.
Reverse: NANA in Bactrian script, NANA.
Goddess Nana standing right, nimbate, head surmounted by crescent; holds scepter, ending in forepart
of horse and patera, a royal symbol (tamgha) in right field, a border of dots.
The coin is die-identical with the specimens in the collection of the British Museum, London, England. (AN783909001), (783910001).
